Sophomore Year (2010-11): All-MAAC Second Team ... MAAC Player
of the Week, 11/19 ... Katelyn Linney started all 30 games for the
Stags and averaged a team-best 35.9 minutes per game … Averaged
12.7
points a contest, which was second on the team – by just three
points – and eighth in the MAAC … Tied the single-game school record
with seven three pointers (7-8) at Alumni Hall in a win over George
Mason … Scored a career-high 30 points that night, shooting 10-12
from the field, and garnering MAAC Player of the Week honors; the
seven three-pointers was the league-high for the year … Connected on
70
percent (19-27) of her three-point shots over the first four games
and finished the campaign hitting 76 treys for the year – second best
single-season effort in program history and tops in the MAAC this sea-
son … Her 37.4 percent success rate from behind the arc for the year
was fourth-best in the league … Connected on five or more three point-
ers five times during the season, including at Niagara on January 14;
in that victory, Linney connected on 10-14 from the field and led the
team with 27 points … Shot 15-29 from the field, for 46 points, in the
Stags MAAC opening weekend sweep of Canisius and Niagara, hitting
9-15
from behind the arc in those games … Scored 20 or more points
four times and reached double-digits 19 times … Handed out 40
assists during the season, with a season-best three in five games, with
the last coming at Rider on February 12 when she also added 19
points and an 8-9 effort at the free throw line … Finished the year
shooting 77.8 percent, 42-54 from the free throw line … Averaged 2.3
rebounds per game for the year, with at least one carom in 28 of the
games she played. She corralled a career-high five boards at Niagara
and then equaled that total at Rider and again at home versus Siena
on February 21 … Had 26 total steals including a pair of three-steal
games (December 19 versus St. Francis (NY) and February 14 versus
Saint Peter’s).
Freshman Year (2009-10): All-MAAC Rookie Team ... MAAC Rookie of
the Week, 11/16, 11/30, 12/14, 1/4, 2/15, 3/1 ... Burst onto the
collegiate scene with a game-high 18 points in the season opening win
over Rhode Island; the point total is a Division I record for a player
making their program debut and it marks only the second time in pro-
gram history that a rookie has led the team in scoring in a season
opener ... Started all 34 games for the Stags during the year as she
averaged 36.3 minutes per game … Played a full 40 minutes on 11
occasions, with 17 appearances of 38 or more minutes, during the
year … Finished the campaign with 67 three-pointers, which was then
the third-best single-season effort in program history … Scored in dou-
ble-digits 18 times during the campaign, highlighted by a 22-point
effort at Saint Peter’s on January 3 … That game started a stretch of
four, and 10 of 13, in which she scored 10 or more points; averaging
just over a dozen points a game during the time period … Ended the
run with a 19-point effort versus Canisius on February 13, hitting five
three-pointers and shooting 4-4 from the line ... Four days earlier she
hit 6-9 from the field, with three makes from behind the arc, to score

in a home win over Marist … Shot 74.4 percent (29-39) for the year

Handed out a career-high five assists on four occasions.
Before Fairfield: Earned four varsity letters at St. John Vianney High
School, where she finished with 1,355 career points … Led the Lady
Lancers to the 2009 Tournament of Champions title and earned MVP
honors … A First-Team All-State selection as a senior as well as being
named First-Team All-Shore as a junior by The
