MEET THE STAGS
10 2012 Stags Field Hockey
2011: Hatch made her freshman debut against
Albany. The forward came off the bench in six
games, tallying two goals and four total points on the season. Her two
goals came against Brown University and America East foe, University
of Maine. She was the only Stag in each of those games to put the
ball in the net. Before Fairfield: Hatch started three seasons at
Washington Township High School in New Jersey. During her time at
the school, Washington Township was conference co-champs in 2008
and was ranked in the state following the 2008 (5th) and 2009 (9th)
campaigns. Hatch played in the South Jersey Senior All-Star game in
2010. She earned All-Olympic Conference honors as a junior and as a
senior, and was the team's offensive player of the year by vote of her
teammates. Her accolades also include All-Group 4, All-South Jersey,
and Courier Post All-South Jersey in her final year. In the classroom,
Hatch collected

/Kiwanis Scholar Athlete honors as well
as Olympic Conference Scholar Athlete designation. She was a mem-
ber of the NFHCA National Academic Squad in 2010. Hatch also
played Futures and was a player on the National Futures
Championship second place team in 2010. She was also a participant
in Junior Olympics (2009) and Futures Elite for two years. Her field
hockey experience also includes six years with the South Jersey Edge,
which participated in the 2009 National Field Hockey Festival.
2011: Buurma was named to the 2011 Gladiator
by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic
Team in her rookie campaign. She had a phenomenal start to her
career, playing and starting all 17 games throughout the season. She
was a leader on the back half and earned her first collegiate start in
the Stags' matchup against St. Joseph's. Before Fairfield: Buurma
enjoyed a solid career as a student-athlete at Shawnee High School
where she excelled both in the classroom and on the field. She was a
three-year starter as a defender and earned two All-Conference hon-
ors. She was a second-team selection in 2009 before moving up to the
first-team in her final campaign. As a senior, Buurma served her team-
mates as captain. She also spent time with the Spirit of USA. She
played in several tournaments during her time with the club team,
namely the Disney Showcase (2007-09), the national indoor tourna-
ment (2007, 2009), the National Hockey Festival (2007-09), and the
National Futures Championship (2008, 2010). Her team captured the
U-14 title at the Disney Showcase in 2007, while the squad was
crowned the U-16 pool champion at the 2009 National Hockey
Festival. In the classroom, Buurma was a member of the NFHCA
Academic Squad and the National Honor Society (2009-11). She grad-
uated Magna Cum Laude at Shawnee High School as one of the class'
top 25 students.
2011: Doggett played in 11 games in her fresh-
man campaign taking one shot on goal in the
Stags' matchup against Brown. She made her collegiate debut against
St. Joseph's in the second half. Doggett added depth off the bench to
Fairfield's midfield. Before Fairfield: Doggett was a four-year starter at
Watertown High School where she helped the field hockey team gar-
ner two state championships (2009, 2010). The team won 10 or more
games in each of her four seasons, and posted a 44-0-2 mark over her
junior (21-0-2) and senior (23-0-0) campaigns. She scored the game
winning goal in the 2009 state championship game and was team
captain of the 2010 state championship squad. She was a three-time
All-Middlesex League all-star, beginning with her sophomore season.
As a senior, she was honored as a Massachusetts All-Scholastic stu-
dent-athlete. She also earned a berth to the Best of 60 team which
included 15 players from each of the state's four regions. She played
five seasons with the Cape Ann Coalition field hockey club, which par-
ticipated in several USFHA indoor and outdoor tournaments. She also
played in the Futures program and the National Field Hockey Festival.
Doggett competed with the Watertown indoor and outdoor track teams
during his career and earned Middlesex All-Star status in those sports.
She capped her high school career by earning the Outstanding Female
Athlete award at Watertown High School, and also received a Senior
Athletic Academic Award which is given to a multi-sport student-athlete
who carries a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
