elly Romano is in her second season as the Director of Basketball
Operations for the Fairfield University women’s basketball team. She moves
just a few seats down the bench as she becomes the second Stags alum-
nus to join Frager’s staff in this role.
As the Stags Director of Basketball Operations, Romano is responsible for
coordinating team travel and helping to maintain the academic success of the
team’s student-athletes. In addition, Romano will play a role in the planning and
execution of on-campus recruiting activities and assist in the program’s commu-
nity service efforts.
Romano graduated from Fairfield in May 2011 with a B.A. in Communications,
and completed her four-year playing career with the Stags last winter. A team cap-
tain as a senior, Romano played in 25 games over the course of her career, while
battling through several injuries.
