Stags Women’s Basketball
Media Information
T
he 2012-13 Fairfield University Women’s Basketball digital publi-
cation was prepared to assist the media in its coverage of
Fairfield women’s basketball. Requests for interviews, photo-
graphs, or additional information should be directed to the Sports
Information Office. Interviews with coaches, student-athletes, and
administrators will not be granted unless arranged by Athletic
Communications in advance.
Media Credentials
In order to eliminate any misunderstanding, all Media Credential
requests must be made 72 hours in advance of a home basketball
game. Because of limited space, priority will be given to outlets that
cover the participating teams on a regular basis. Credentials will be
available at the media entrance on game day. To secure credentials,
please call Kelly McCarthy at (203) 254-4000 x2877 or contact by
email at kmccarthy@fairfield.edu.
Photo Credentials
A photo pass is required to take any photos at the Webster Bank Arena
and Alumni Hall. Photographers may secure photo passes by contact-
ing Kelly McCarthy at least 48 hours before game time. Photographers
are NOT PERMITTED in the team bench area. Photos may be taken
from the base line in the designated photo box. Space is allocated on
a first-come, first-served basis.
Visiting Radio
All visiting radio stations must make arrangements to broadcast by
calling the Athletic Communications Office. MAAC schools will be pro-
vided with one complimentary phone line.
Parking
Media parking is available on a very limited basis at the Webster Bank
Arena. No parking lot is designated for media. If you need to make spe-
cial arrangements regarding parking, please contact Kelly McCarthy
well in advance of game day. All parking matters are at the discretion
of the Arena. For games at Alumni Hall, enter campus at the main gate
and make your first left. Parking is at the bottom of the small hill on
the right.
Media Services
Complete statistics and running play-by-play will be provided approxi-
mately 20 minutes after the game in the media room. Postgame inter-
views will be conducted in the media room after the NCAA required 10-
minute cooling off period.
Postgame News Conference
Following each game, Head Coach Joe Frager and select players will
be available for a postgame news conference in a designated area.
One-on-one interviews can be arranged after games. Contact Kelly
McCarthy directly for any postgame needs.
Coach & Player Interviews
All interview requests must be made through the Athletic
Communications Office. The preferred interview time is 60 minutes
before practice for coaches and 30 minutes before practice for play-
ers. Player phone numbers will not be released at any time. Please
make interview requests at least 24 hours in advance.
Media Room
A media room is located on court level. The room is for media ONLY.
Food and beverages will be served one hour before a single game or
between games of a doubleheader. Game notes and stats are avail-
able in this room. Reporters are welcome to write and send stories
from this room. Phone lines are available as well as wireless internet.
Press Row
Members of the media will be seated at press row on a space avail-
ability basis. In most cases, any reporter who is issued a credential will
be allotted a seat at press row or in the auxiliary press box. Radio sta-
tions which broadcast the game will be located on press row.
Locker Room Policy
The Fairfield University women’s basketball locker room is not open to
the media before or after a game. However, a member of the Athletic
Communications staff will bring requested players outside the locker
room or to the media interview room following a game. We appreciate
your cooperation.
