Meet TheStags
General: Veronica Saez is a sophomore at Fairfield and
will compete for playing time in goal this season after
redshirting in 2011.
Off The Field: Saez is undecided on her major. She earned a spot in the
Department of Athletics 3.0 Club in the Spring 2012 semester.
2011: Saez redshirted the 2011 campaign, training with the Stags keepers.
High School: Saez comes to Fairfield from Bainbridge High School. She has a
wealth of experience on her resume, having been the goalkeeper for the U17
Chilean National Team at the 2012 Women's World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

General: Jac Ley returns for her junior campaign with
the Stags. Primarily a forward, the two-footed player
can also see time in the midfield. Ley has seen action in 27 games in her
Fairfield career, with eight starts, and has a pair of goals.
Off The Field: Ley is a double major, working on degrees in both Finance and
Management. She has been a member or the University's Dean's List in three
of her first four semesters, and posted a GPA of over 3.0 in each semester to
earn a spot in the Department of Athletics 3.0 Club.
2011: Ley appeared in seven games for the Stags, all as a reserve.
2010:
MAAC Rookie of the Week, 9/20!
Jac Ley appeared in all 20 games as
a rookie, making eight starts, the first against American on September 4, as
well as the next two outings. After coming off the bench versus UMass, Ley
returned to the starting line-up with a vengeance at Stony Brook. She netted
two of the Stags three goals in the shutout victory, earning her MAAC Rookie of
the Week accolades the following Monday.
High School: Ley earned four varsity letters at Hill-Murray High School, leading
the team to 55 wins in the course of her career. She netted 43 goals, to go
along with 39 assists in her career, despite missing a portion of her senior sea-
son with a broken foot. Over the course of her scholastic career Ley earned All-
State, All-Conference, and team MVP honors, as well as earning the Work
House Award. Ley also lettered in ice hockey.
Personal: Jacquelyn Noel Ley is the daughter of Carol and Jeff Ley and has two
siblings.

General: Karolyn Collins is in her first season with the
Stags and is expected to challenge for playing time in
the back.
Off The Field: Collins is undecided on her major.
High School: Collins earned four varsity letters at Norwalk High School, where
she served as team captain her senior season. A team MVP, she earned All-
State accolades in two seasons, while earning All-Area and All-FCIAC in each of
her four seasons.
Personal: Karolyn Nicole Collins is the daughter of Kathy and Tom Collins. She
has an older brother, Tyler, who played two seasons of soccer at American
University.

General: Emma Pichl has appeared in every game the
Stags have played since she joined the team and
worked her way into a starting role. She begins her second season as a com-
petitor for starting time in the back line.
Off The Field: Pichl is planning to major in Communications at Fairfield.
2011:
All-MAAC Rookie Team!
Pichl appeared in all 19 games the Stags played
during her rookie season, and started 10 of those games. The Stags allowed
just five goals in the 10 games she started.
High School: Pichl earned four varsity letters at Notre Dame School, leading the
squad to a 43-11-4 record. She tallied 76 goals, with 39 assists, over the
course of her career, serving as team captain in each season. As a senior Pichl
touched net 17 times to go along with nine assists. A four-time NY Daily News
All-City selection and First-Team NY Post honoree, she was also earned the
2009 Manhattan Player of the Year award. Pichl played club soccer for the
Brooklyn Knights and was a 2008 ODP USL National selection.
Personal: Emma Katherine Pichl is the daughter of Maureen and Frank Pichl,
and has two older brothers; Charlie and Tommy.
