Meet TheStags
General: Lauren Reilly, selected as a 2012 team cap-
tain, returns for her fourth season as a member of the
Stags midfield. She has appeared in 49 career games with the Stags and has
started 41 times - including 38 consecutive starts over the past two seasons.
Reilly begins the year with 13 career points, including six goals.
Off The Field: Reilly is an English major at Fairfield, and will earn minors in
Psychology and Marketing. She was named to the University's Dean’s List in
the 2010 and 2011 Fall semesters and has been a member of the Department
of Athletics 3.0 Club in all six of her semesters at Fairfield. She has served as
a peer tutor at the Jamie A. Hulley Center in Bridgeport.
2011:
All-MAAC Second Team! All-MAAC Academic Team!
Reilly started all 19
games for the Stags as a junior, playing up front for a majority of her minutes,
but also seeing time in the midfield occasionally. She finished the year with
three goals, including the game winner at Hofstra. Reilly's other goals came in
the MAAC win at Saint Peter's and in a non-conference game versus Stony
Brook.
2010:
MAAC All-Academic Team!
Reilly started all 19 of the games in which
she appeared, missing the season finale versus Harvard. She finished the sea-
son with three points, netting a goal and one assist. Reilly recorded her assist
on the Stags lone goal in a win over American in Washington, DC on September
4. She netted her goal for the year in the MAAC win over Saint Peter's at home.
2009: Reilly started four of the 11 games in which she appeared as a rookie.
She netted her first collegiate points on a goal in the Stags win over San Jose
State. Reilly touched net again against Hartford, which was the first start of her
Fairfield career.
High School: Reilly earned four varsity letters at The Saint Andrew's School.
She touched net 23 times as a senior, leading the Scots to a 16-3-1 record and
a berth in the State 3A semifinals. Reilly, who also recorded two clean sheets
in net that season, was named First-Team All-County by the Sun Sentinel and
Palm Beach Post. The Boca News selected Reilly a First-Team All-Area per-
former following both her junior and senior seasons. She was named team
MVP as a junior and helped lead the Scots to a 3A State Title as a sophomore,
boasting a 20-1-2 record.
Personal: Lauren Elizabeth Reilly is the daughter of Marielle and William Reilly.
She has two brothers and a sister.
