Meet TheStags
General: Ashley Small returns for her second season
with the Stags and provides a speedy offensive option.
She comes into the season with 18 career games, including a start, and two
goals scored.
Off The Field: Small is an Accounting major. She earned a spot in the
Department of Athletics 3.0 Club in each of her first two semesters on campus.
2011:
All-MAAC Rookie Team! MAAC Rookie of the Week, 10/24!
Small
appeared in 18 games for the Stags and made her first collegiate start in the
game at Harvard. She would finish the season with four points. Small scored
her first collegiate goal in her MAAC debut, putting home the game's lone goal.
She scored again in the Stags victory over Rider at home on Senior Day.
High School: Small attended St. Anthony's High School, where she led her side
to the championship game of the Catholic State Cup. She played her club soc-
cer for HBC/ISA intense. Small led that squad to the 2010 Jefferson Cup
Showcase Championship Game and the semifinals of the 2010 PDA
Invitational College Showcase.

General: Megan O'Brien is in her second season as a
member of the Fairfield defense.
Off The Field: O'Brien is planning on majoring in Psychology. She earned Dean's
List recognition in her first semester on campus and has been a member of the
Department of Athletics 3.0 Club in every collegiate semester.
2011: O'Brien saw action in 17 games for the Stags during her rookie cam-
paign. She started nine times in the back line, including eight of the first nine
games of her career. O'Brien helped the Stags post 10 clean sheets and the
nation's 15th best goals-against average, at 0.63.
High School: O'Brien earned four varsity letters at Hall High School, where she
helped the Warriors to a 40-10-19 record. She was the squad's captain in
2010, tallying six of her 31 career goals, as well as handing out 12 assists. As
a sophomore, O'Brien, who earned All-Conference and All-Academic accolades
during her scholastic career, led the Warriors to a CCC West Title. She also let-
tered in indoor and outdoor track and graduated as the school record holder in
the 400m and the 4x200m relay. O'Brien was inducted into the National Honor
Society, as well as the French and Latin Honor Societies, at Hall.
Personal: Megan Katherine O'Brien is the daughter of Andrea and Dan O'Brien
and has two younger sisters; Claire and Erin.
